New 'Fast and Furious' spin-off continues leading Chinese mainland box office

BEIJING, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- "Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw," the latest spin-off of "The Fast and the Furious" franchise, led the Chinese mainland box office on Monday, the China Movie Data Information Network said Tuesday.

The film raked in 22.36 million yuan (about 3.11 million U.S. dollars), accounting for nearly half of the daily total.

Coming in the second was Chinese animated film "Ne Zha," which grossed 10.3 million yuan on Monday and a total of 4.73 billion yuan in 39 days since its debut.

"The Bravest," a Chinese feature film putting spotlight on firefighters, ranked third by raking in 4.69 million yuan on its 33th day of screening.
