Veteran pianist Fou Ts'ong died at 86 of COVID-19 in the UK on Monday, local media reported.

His student Kong Jianing, also a professor at the Royal College of Music, revealed on his WeChat moments that Fou has been undergoing treatment in a London hospital for the past two weeks.
Fou was born in Shanghai on March 10, 1934. With his artistic contributions to piano, he earned himself the title of "Piano Poet." His father Fu Lei was a prominent writer and translator.
