Shenzhen Aviators rise to see off Zhejiang Lions 113-97 in CBA

SHENZHEN, China, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- Gu Quan scored a game-high 26 points as Shenzhen Aviators cruised past Zhejiang Lions 113-97 at home in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league here on Saturday.

Gu made six out of 10 3-pointer attempts with only 28 minutes of playing time. Shen Zijie had 23 points and 11 rebounds for Shenzhen. Kenneth Faried scored 17 points while Hu Jinqiu contributed 16 for the visitors.

The hosts were 12-of-28 on 3-pointers, compared to 3-of-14 for the visitors, for nine more 3-pointers which were enough for their victory.

Shenzhen stormed to a 16-2 spurt midway through the first quarter, building up a 32-23 lead after the first quarter. Both teams improved their defense in the second quarter and Shenzhen held their advantage well, leading 51-38 into the halftime break.

The Lions fought back hard and collected points down the paint in the third quarter, only to see the Aviators responded with 3-pointers and maintained their advantage. The home side led 80-68 into the last quarter and sealed the victory with composure.
