The Chinese men's and women's volleyball teams arrived in Jakarta on Friday night. On the ladies side, two key players Zhang Changning and Yang Fangxu,  are not in the line-up due to injuries.

Led by legendary head coach Lang Ping, the female players are hoping to nab something better than the silver medal they earned in Inchon four years ago.

The 13-player selection includes veteran players Zhu Ting and Yuan Xinyue. China lost 3-nil to hosts South Korea in 2014 and have a quick chance for revenge when they play them in their first group game in Jakarta.

Lang said, "We are missing two players due to injury and we hope they can recover quickly and prepare for the World Championships."

"We have discussed this for a long time and had many meetings with our doctors and therapists to come to this final decision. But as usual, we will fight in every match," she added.

Meanwhile, the Chinese men's volleyball side comprises of a blend of both young blood and veteran players. Among the list are new favorites from the country's league, including Zhang Zhejia and Wang Jingyi, along with veterans Ren Qi and Zhang Cheng.
