A Sino-Danish renovation project was unveiled and opened to the public in Beijing on Thursday, as a key demonstration of collaboration between designers from two countries.
The launch was held as the annual Beijing Design Week is underway in China’s capital. Vice Mayor of Beijing Wang Ning and the Lord Mayor of Copenhagen Frank Jensen witnessed the inauguration.
The renewal project, including a new Sino-Danish Innovation Center, sits in Qinglong Hutong, northwest Beijing’s Zhongguancun area. The projects aims to utilize advanced urban design concepts and sustainable environmental protection technologies from Denmark to reform and rejuvenate the antiquated areas of Beijing.
Copenhagen, the guest city of this year's Beijing Design Week, has brought a series of events that will run through Oct. 5, with the theme, "living is giving."
Under the auspices of Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Beijing municipal government, the design week will run until Oct. 7.
