Hosted by the Hunan Photographers Association, the festival aims to provide a stage for villagers to celebrate Chinese New Year as they return from urban cities for the holiday.

With the theme for this year's art festival being "Villages are beautiful and villagers are all dream chasers," the photography exhibition paid respects to migrant workers' perseverance and their contributions to the society.

Migrant workers at the festival not only contributed to the photography exhibition, but also staged various performances from concerts to Chinese operas.

According to the curator of the exhibition, Shu Yong, the Beautiful Village art festival belongs to local villagers, who are full of passion for the fine and performing arts.

"The land gave birth to this art festival. All the performances were created by villagers or folk artists who developed their art from the land," he said.
