Vacationers may enjoy the city all year round thanks to its unique combination of a subtropical climate and the mountainous landscape — you can ski in the winter and bask in the sun in the summer, while early spring and late autumn are perfect for recreation and exercise.

Sochi has European-class ski resorts, with over 200 km of modern slopes. It is also called a “little Switzerland” in southern Russia.

Sochi, Russia’s southernmost city and the world’s northernmost subtropical city, has become a prominent location in part thanks to the 2014 Olympic Games and the Sochi Autodrom, a Formula 1 racetrack.

Sochi is the only sea port in Russia with the main focus on marine passenger transportation.

It is Europe’s longest city, spanning 146 kilometers along the coast of the Black Sea.

Sochi is the center of Russian tea. The famous Russian groundsman Judas Antonovich Koshman was the first to found a successful tea plantation near the city in 1901. It is now the most northern tea growing area in the world, and has won major titles at international contests.
