The Maritime Silk Road Trade Index (STI) of June released by Ningbo Shipping Exchange shows steady demands of the countries along the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.
Under the STI, the Import and Export Trade Index closed at 142.25 points, down 5.53 percent from the previous month and up 17.17 percent from the same period of last year.
To be specific, the Export Trade Index closed at 149.40 points, down 6.52 percent month on month and up 12.06 percent year on year. The Import Trade Index closed at 133.82 points, down 4.19 percent month on month and also up 24.65 percent year on year.
In June 2018, China’s foreign trade value with the countries along the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road slightly retreated compared with that of the previous month. The growth rate of foreign trade value exceeded 15 percent year on year for three consecutive months.
