BEIJING, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.25 percent to end at 2,815.8 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.48 percent higher at 9,009.68 points.
