BEIJING, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- China's major stock indices ended lower in the morning session Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 1 percent to 3,088.89 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index lost 1.32 percent to 11,087.54 points at midday.
