BEIJING, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) -- China's major stock indices ended higher in the morning session Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.94 percent at 3,574.89 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.3 percent to end at 14,406.42 points at midday.
