U.S.-based fried chicken brand Popeyes opened its first store in East China's Shanghai on Friday.

The company plans to open 1,500 more in the coming decade. 

Popeyes was founded in 1972 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Now, almost 48 years later, it's finally entered the Chinese market.
