China launches record 26 satellites atop single rocket

China's Lijian-1 Y2 carrier rocket sent 26 satellites into orbit after blasting off from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China on Wednesday, setting a record for the highest number of satellites launched atop a single rocket in the country.

The satellites will be mainly used for technology verification and commercial remote sensing information services.

The launch marked the second flight mission of the Lijian-1 carrier rocket series.
