Qingdao had tested over a million people in the city for the coronavirus as of 5:30 pm on Monday and reported no new postive cases, local authorities said at a news briefing.

"The confirmed cases in Qingdao are not found in communities but in hospitals," said Zhang Huaqiang, deputy director of the coastal city's Center for Disease Prevention and Control. "The coronavirus patients have already been transferred to designated hospitals for treatment, which means the risk of a pandemic is relatively low."

Qingdao has reported six new confirmed cases and six new asymptomatic cases of COVID-19 since fresh cases emerged in the city over the weekend, the municipal health commission said.
