A bomb planted near a church in Sri Lanka's capital Colombo went off on Monday during defusal efforts, Reuters reported citing witnesses at the site. 

The same church was targeted on Sunday when a string of blasts rocked worship hotels and Christian house of prayers in the country killing 290 people and wounded about 500 others.
