HOHHOT, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- Thirteen Mongolian children suffering from congenital heart disease have received free medical treatment in a hospital in Hohhot, capital of northern China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, local authorities said Tuesday.

The children arrived in the city on Dec. 24 and started receiving operations at Inner Mongolia People's Hospital on Dec. 26. They were on their way back to Mongolia on Tuesday after successful operations.
The service is part of the second phase of a humanitarian aid program by the Red Cross Society of China, which started in June last year and plans to provide 100 sick Mongolian children with free heart surgeries.
In the first phase of the program, 100 sick Mongolian children received free heart surgeries in China.
