A photo exhibition showcasing some of China's 53 UNESCO World Heritage sites will be launched Wednesday at the historic Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens in Los Angeles County in the United States, the China National Tourist Office, Los Angeles announced Monday.
"China is a wondrous destination that intoxicates the senses with its five millennia of culture and history," said Wu Ning, director of the China National Tourist Office, Los Angeles.
"Through introductions of our fabulous tourism resources to our American travel industry colleagues and the general public, our goal is to get more American leisure travelers to visit beautiful China," she noted.
China has one of the most complete sets of heritage sites over a broad range and boasts the largest number of World Cultural and Natural Heritage Sites.
"From the iconic Great Wall in Beijing to Fanjingshan in Guizhou, China boasts a long list of must-see attractions. We hope that the selections of this exhibition will help American people feel the beauty of China and the wonderfulness of Chinese civilization," Wu told Xinhua.
"There's so much of beautiful China waiting to be explored," she added.
Headed up by China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the three-day exhibition is part of the China Tourism and Culture Week in Los Angeles, a week-long series of special China-oriented events running through May 26.
