Washington (People’s Daily) - In one of the worst days in the history of the US stock market, on Monday, the Dow dropped over 1,500 points and while the S & P 500 Index sank 4.6 percent.
By the time the Dow closed, it had recorded the worst closing point decline ever.
But it still wasn’t as bad as Black Monday or the financial crisis of 2008.
The Nasdaq dropped 2 percent.
The last week of January was also the worst week on Wall Street in two years.
The market's drop began on Friday as investors worried that signs of higher inflation and interest rates could break the market's record-setting rally.
