A project guideline on Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be soon published, in a bid to speed up the research and development of AI key technologies, said Wan Gang, the Minister of Science and Technology at a press conference of the National People's Congress (NPC) Saturday.
Wan also noted that it is significant to conduct basic research on key technologies and apply them for social uses, especially if AI shall be involved in various areas." The establishment of an AI open-source platform has been launched. Facial scanning has been gradually applied at high-speed railways and airports and the AI open source should be accessible to entrepreneurs," said Wan at the press conference.
Wan mentioned four aspects in terms of AI development in China, including a to-be-published project guideline for research and development of AI key technologies, the application of AI technologies for social uses, the combination of intelligence sciences and social sciences to strengthen policy and legal research and to deepen international cooperation.
