Schools and parents throughout the US are searching for ways to protect children, students, and teachers from school shootings and have now turned to bulletproof backpack panels and whiteboards in the wake of last month’s massacre that claimed the lives of 17 at a South Florida high school.
Hardwire, a company that manufactures protective whiteboards, said sales have “skyrocketed” since the Douglas High shooting while refusing to reveal actual revenue numbers.
Hardwire CEO George Tunis said the protective shields “would have made a difference.”
Meanwhile, some have argued the whiteboards are not big enough to cover the entire human body.
