Damascus (People's Daily) - Chinese Ambassador to Syria, Qi Qianjin, accompanied by World Health Organization representative Elizabeth Hoff, and Assistant Minister of Higher Education for Health Affairs, Hasan al-Jabhaji, visited al-Mouwasat University Hospital on February 11.

The emergency room reconstruction project included circuit upgrades, new elevators, donated beds, and medical equipment.

China donated 5,404 tons of rice which was distributed throughout the country.

Since 2011, China has provided Syria with humanitarian aid.

China has signed five agreements with the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Food Program (WFP), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), for a combined total of $5.5 million in support of humanitarian efforts in Syria and neighboring countries.

China will continue to provide humanitarian assistance to Syria and call on accelerating political progress so Syrians can enjoy a happy life.
