China’s aviation authority, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), on Saturday ordered foreign carriers who operate flights to China to look at information on their websites, mobile applications and other marketing channels.
The move comes after several foreign firms were reportedly found listing China's Tibet Autonomous Region and Taiwan as "countries" on their digital platforms, which violates China's laws and regulations.
According to CAAC's statement, if such situation exists, immediate measures should be taken to rectify it.
The CAAC will verify the subsequent rectification and take further measures to the non-compliant foreign airlines in accordance with laws and regulations.
