China to participate in 2018 RIMPAC

China said Thursday it will participate in the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) multinational naval exercises.

Wu Qian, spokesman of China's Ministry of National Defense (MND), confirmed at the regular conference on Thursday that China has received an invitation from the US.

The Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) is the largest multinational naval exercise led by the US.

This is the third time that the Chinese navy will participate in the world's largest joint naval exercise.

China also participated in 2014 and 2016.
