A Chinese tourist died on the Indonesian island paradise of Bali in an apparent murder on January 5 morning, People's Daily Online reported.
The victim’s son heard her calling for help at 3 am and ran out to find his mother lying on the ground, bathed in blood, Police Officer Yudith Satriya Hananta said.
The victim has not been named, but was a China resident born in 1966. An investigation at the scene showed scars from a sharp instrument on the victim's body.
A postmortem examination is underway. Indonesian police are investigating.
The China Consulate General confirmed the information.
