A movie Hold Your Hands telling a story of how a Chinese village alleviated poverty has been a hit in China. In the past five years, over 60 million Chinese people have shaken off poverty like villagers in this movie.If China is compared to a large sailing ship, what is the direction for the future?

The 19th Communist Party of China (CPC) National Congress report points out that the period between now and 2020 will be decisive in finishing the building of a moderately prosperous society in all aspects.

General Secretary Xi Jinping has mapped out a blueprint for another 30 years'work and development. In the first stage from 2020 to 2035, China will build on the foundation created by the moderately prosperous society with a further 15 years of hard work to see that socialist modernization is basically realized.

From 2035 to the middle of the 21st century, China will work hard for a further 15 years building on having basically achieved modernization, and develop China into a great modern socialist country that is prosperous, strong, democratic, culturally advanced, harmonious, and beautiful.

Goals are like lighthouses. In different stages, the CPC makes goals according to time and situation to inspire millions of people to strive for common goals.

In 1982, the 12th CPC National Congress proposed a two-step strategy for the next two decades and this goal has already achieved. The 13th Congress in 1987 set forth a three-step economic development strategy, aiming to proceed from satisfying all the basic people’s needs to a moderately prosperous society. Later in 1997, the 15th Congress made a new three-step plan, setting goals for 2010, the first centenary goal marking the 100th anniversary of the CPC’s founding in 1921, the second centenary goal commemorating the 100th anniversary of founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949 and the goal of basically realizing socialist modernization in the middle of 21st century.

Today, the time for basically achieving socialist modernization has moved up 15 years ahead of schedule and the second centenary goal has been upgraded into building a great modern socialist country that is prosperous, strong, democratic, culturally advanced, harmonious, and beautiful. The shift results from an annual GDP increase of 9 percent on average in recent four decades, China's steady second place among global economies, and the improvement of people's livelihood and considerable progress of all industries.

China's new goal had added confidence to the whole world. Many scholars interpret the secrets of China's success by saying that no other countries make a long-term development plan and a short-term goal like China. They said, the advantages of China's systems are conducive to stimulating dynamism and maintaining policy stability and continuity.

When the politicians in some countries are "playing boxing" with their opposition parties, the CPC is "running a relay race", seeking for corresponding methods for different stages.

The success of the CPC is also the success of China. China has been injecting momentum into the global economy and contributing Chinese wisdom and Chinese solutions for world peace and development.
