The Chinese government is considering plans to set up a financial court in Shanghai, which could handle disputes and provide a better business environment for foreign and domestic investors.

The proposal was submitted to the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress for reading on Wednesday. Shanghai was chosen as the location for the court because of its recent rise in financial cases and its high number of financial institutions.

The intermediate-level court will focus on a series of civil and administrative disputes relating to finance, including loans, insurances, securities and those against financial authorities, the draft said. (People’s Daily app)

A Walt Disney Studios executive recently apologized to disappointed fans and media outlets who attended the Avengers: Infinity War event at the Shanghai Disney Resort last week.

Attendees complained on social media about limited tickets being given to diehard Marvel fans, Chinese entertainers who had nothing to do with the film taking the spotlight away from the film’s stars, and safety concerns at the event itself.

The executive said they would learn from the experience and find more appropriate ways to promote their films in the future.

Avengers: Infinity War will hit Chinese theaters nationwide on May 11. (People’s Daily app)
