Hong Kong stocks rally at open after mauling

Hong Kong stocks rallied at the open on Wednesday, rebounding from the previous day's battering, as investors tracked a recovery on Wall Street.

The Hang Seng Index climbed 2.36 percent, or 722.04 points, to 31,317.46, having dumped more than five percent on Tuesday.

And the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 1.25 percent, or 42.09 points, to 3,412.74, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, bounced back 1.59 percent, or 27.36 points, to 1,753.45.
