Today is the 18th World Intellectual Property Day.
The event was established by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in 2000 to "raise awareness of how patents, copyright, trademarks and designs impact daily life" and "to celebrate creativity, and the contribution made by creators and innovators to the development of societies across the globe".
The theme for this year is “Powering change: Women in innovation and creativity”. As an old Chinese saying goes: Women hold up half the sky. With the future on the horizon, women do not just settle for beauty, elegance and demureness, but they also have a strong work ethic equal to or greater than men. And intellectual property has been providing opportunities for women from every walk of life to be innovative and creative.
