A video featuring an mechanic inspecting a bullet train with dazzling moves has gone viral on China’s social media. Some viewers call it a “fantastic dance”.
The “dance” is not a show to attract attention, but a skill, the inspector in the video Zhang Pei said, it meant to optimize the efficiency of train inspection.
China’s high-speed bullet train can run at speeds up to 400km/h. Zhang, along with three co-workers, need to thoroughly inspect the skirt and chassis of the train within 40 minutes, and are recorded on video.
During the Spring Festival travel rush, to ensure the security and punctuality of bullet trains,Zhang and his group were required to finish inspecting six trains one night, and each of them made more than 30,000 steps every night.
