There is no negotiation between China and US on trade friction, the Ministry of Commerce said Wednesday.
“Chinese and US financial officials have not conducted any negotiations on economic and trade frictions,” Ministry Spokesperson Gao Yang said. “There are principles to follow for negotiations. At present, the US does not show any sincerity for negotiations.”
China's continued opening-up measures have nothing to do with the ongoing trade friction with the US, he added.
The major strategic decisions are made based on an accurate estimation of the country's current development level, in order to elevate opening-up in the new era to a higher level, according to Gao.
He also said China will fight relentlessly if the US insists on unilateralism and trade protectionism.
