In Shenyang, Northeast China's Liaoning Province, pandas are enjoying their festival food. Aside from this, their keepers have given hand-made gifts, such as ice-sugar gourds and red envelopes.

On February 15, the eve of Chinese Lunar New Year, the pandas had a special breakfast-the Chinese word wang- meaning prosperity, made from carrot sticks. The breakfast symbolizes the keepers’ blessings for the pandas.

On the same day, in the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda in Wolong, southwest China's Sichuan Province, the pandas made their first collective appearance and gave their new year greetings to the people of the world.
