A Chinese sea trawler was seized by South Korea in the country’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) on Sunday, the 12th Chinese fishing boat to be detained by South Korea this year.
The trawler was held by a fishery management team under the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries of South Korea, South Korean media News1 reported, quoted by haiwainet.cn.
The South Korean fishery management team claimed that “a total of 500-kilogram anglerfish was not registered on the fishing journal,” according to the report.
South Korea has detained 12 Chinese fishing boats and collected 1.96 billion won (about $1.84 million) guarantee bond as of Sunday.
