Senate leaders pass stopgap spending bill to reopen government; House expected to follow

Washington (People's Daily) - The US Senate, in a vote of 81-18, just passed a bill ending the government shutdown and will keep it open through February 8. 

The bill will now go to the House of Representatives where it is expected to pass.

The House of Representatives also passed the resolution by 266:150, with 37 members did not vote. President Trump is expected to sign it into law soon.
