April 23 marks the World Book Day, an annual event designated by UNESCO to promote the enjoyment of books and reading. Celebrations take place all over the world each year.

April 23 is a symbolic date in world literature. It is the date on which several prominent authors, William Shakespeare, Miguel Cervantes and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega all died. Even today, their books are still read by tens of millions of booklovers across the world.
