In China, we have the lunar calendar and the solar calendar. Spring Festival marks the New Year for the lunar calendar, which has a cycle of 12 years each with a different animal.
For expats in China, do they know which animal represents 2018? When Chinese say a year is their “benmingnian,” they usually mean it's their zodiac anniversary year. Can foreigners understand the traditions of benmingnian, like what to wear? Do foreigners have any special New Year Resolutions with the Spring Festival approaching?
