In China, we have the lunar calendar and the solar calendar. Spring Festival marks the New Year for the lunar calendar, which has a cycle of 12 years each with a different animal.
For expats in China, do they know which animal represents 2018? When Chinese say a year is their “benmingnian,” they usually mean it's their zodiac anniversary year.
