Cairo (People's Daily) - The overseas voting of 2018 Egyptian presidential election kicked off on Friday.

Thousands of Egyptian expatriates are heading to polling stations throughout the world to cast their ballots, with a deadline set on Sunday.

Lasheen Ibrahim, head of the election commission, said the turnout on Friday appears to be good.

Domestic voting will take place March 26-28.

In Maadi, a traditionally affluent district in Cairo, inflated cartoons and heart-shaped electronic screens with slogans were set up on the riverside by the supporters President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
