Warm journeys home: Spring Festival Gala on a train

Spring Festival is the most important traditional holiday in China. It’s a time for loved ones to reunite after being apart for long periods.  For those who have been away remaining loyal to their responsibilities, one train has heightened the holiday experience of traveling home on a train.  

According to China News Service, in providing a memorable customer service experience for passengers, K1164 attendants offered a live Spring Festival Gala of their own.

Carefully selected artists performed alongside train employees, and passengers who offered to help.

“Happy Chinese New Year everyone! All passengers are welcome to visit the dining car and join the party,” announced Zhang Lin, the train’s conductor, shortly before the gala commenced. 

For entertainment, passengers were invited to dance and sing and participate in Chinese crosstalk.

Homemade dumplings, a traditional Chinese delicacy enjoyed during the holiday, were provided.

“This is the best Chinese Lunar New Year’s Eve I’ve ever had. I enjoyed the programs they prepared for us. It was funny and relaxing to watch them during the journey home,” said one passenger, Li Guoqing, who was traveling home for the New Year.
