Sao Paulo (People's Daily) - "China's achievements are reflected not only in economic growth figures, but also in the continuous improvement of people's quality of life and the confidence and vitality demonstrated throughout society." Speaking on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Leonardo Attuch, founder and editor-in-chief of Brasil 247, said in an interview with the People's Daily that China's development path offers important lessons for the world, especially for countries of the Global South.

As a well-known Brazilian media figure and long-time observer of international affairs, Attuch has visited China many times in recent years. In June, he concluded his fifth trip to the country. Over the previous year, he had visited China four times, traveling to Beijing, Shanghai, Hubei, and Macao for exchanges and field visits.

"China has become one of the countries I follow most closely," Attuch said, noting that each visit brings new insights and discoveries.

In his view, one of the most impressive aspects of China is the remarkable progress it has made in pursuing high-quality development. From modern infrastructure and the widespread application of digital technologies to efficient transportation systems and a thriving innovation ecosystem, China's development achievements have become deeply integrated into people's daily lives.

"Whether in transportation, digital services, or urban development, people can clearly feel how development has improved their lives," Attuch said.

When discussing why the CPC has been able to maintain long-term governance and continue to enjoy public support, Attuch said that its commitment to a people-centered philosophy is a key factor.

"I believe the CPC has consistently placed the interests of the people at the center of national governance," he said. Whether in economic or social policy, the fundamental objective has been to improve people's living conditions and create more opportunities for development.

In Attuch's view, another important strength of the CPC lies in its ability to combine long-term planning with sustained implementation.

"Many countries are constrained by short political cycles and therefore struggle to maintain long-term development strategies," Attuch noted. China, by contrast, has been able to steadily advance major development projects and reforms in accordance with its long-term goals.

As a media professional from the Global South, Attuch pays close attention to the implications of Chinese modernization for developing countries.

He noted that the development path China has explored since the founding of the People's Republic of China laid the foundation for long-term stability and development. China's success in eliminating absolute poverty, continuously improving living standards, and sustaining economic growth demonstrates the importance of strategic planning, social cohesion, and national unity.

"China's experience shows that when a country is able to maintain long-term planning, preserve social stability, and consistently focus on the needs of its people, it can achieve remarkable development outcomes," Attuch said.

Speaking about cooperation between China and countries of the Global South, Attuch noted that China has become an important partner for Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as for the broader Global South.

In his view, the significance of China's international cooperation extends beyond trade. More importantly, it helps partner countries strengthen their own development capacities.

"From 'Made in China' to 'Created by China,' and through investment, technology transfer, industrial cooperation, and infrastructure development, China is contributing more and more to global development," Attuch said. He said this model of cooperation can help developing countries enhance their level of industrialization and strengthen their capacity for independent development.

Attuch also emphasized the relevance of China's vision of win-win cooperation in today's increasingly complex international environment.

"Win-win cooperation is based on mutual respect and common development," he said. China's approach offers new ideas for international cooperation and creates more opportunities for countries of the Global South to achieve shared development.

Looking ahead, Attuch said China's development achievements deserve serious study and deeper understanding around the world.

"I hope Western societies will adopt a more objective and open-minded approach toward China and seek to understand the development philosophy upheld by the CPC, rather than viewing China through the lens of prejudice or outdated assumptions," he said. In his view, one of the defining features of China's development path is its consistent emphasis on the public interest.

On the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, Attuch extended his congratulations to both the Communist Party of China and the Chinese people.

"I believe the CPC will continue to lead China in advancing modernization and make new contributions to world peace and common development," he said.
