The protests in Hong Kong have taken on a violent nature that has seen demonstrators ransacking the legislature building, blocking roads, while hurling bricks, iron rods, and petrol bombs at police officers.

Protesters surrounded police headquarters and disrupted government departments, and raided the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).

Recently, some have defaced the national emblem and desecrated the national flag. The escalation of violence has caused distress to those who care about the city.

It is imperative for Hong Kong residents to support the police in enforcing the law to stop the spread of violence, restore social stability, and safeguard the rule of law.

Signs and slogans have revealed the protesters are no longer opposing an extradition bill. Their goal is to create chaos in Hong Kong and undermine the "one country, two systems" principle.

Violence will not be tolerated in civilized society under the rule of law. As already witnessed, the police, as guardians of the social order, have come under pressure as the protests continue to grow.

In response to peaceful demonstrations and rallies, they have approved and provided necessary assistance in accordance with the law. However, under cover of peaceful demonstrations, radical members have violated broken the law by attacking police, and in some cases biting off their fingers.

The protesters have incited feelings of revenge against the police, launching cyberattacks against their families and children. In spite of such difficulties, police professionalism has been appreciated and lauded by Hong Kong residents.

The violent behavior of the protesters has threatened public safety, social order, the economy, livelihoods, while tarnishing Hong Kong’s international image.

One example of how violence has impacted the city can be found in the high turnover rate in the retail sector. If the violence continues, the base of Hong Kong's economy will be destroyed. All Hong Kong sectors should take action and help the police stop the violence.

The residents need to wake up to the seriousness of this situation and say "no" to the radical protesters and forces who want to destroy the "one country, two systems” policy.

Hong Kong is China’s Hong Kong. The prosperity and stability of this land weighs on the well-being of seven million citizens and on China's sovereignty and security. The central government supports the Hong Kong police, relevant departments, and judiciary system in punishing violent behavior and apprehending responsible parties in accordance with Hong Kong law.
