Almost 6,000 medical personnel arrived at the Wuhan Tianhe International Airport in the capital city of Hubei Province, the epicenter of the novel coronavirus outbreak on Sunday, signaling the largest number of medical workers to arrive in the city on a single day since the epidemic started.

Among the arriving medical staff, 838 were from third emergency group dispatched from Zhejiang Province to fight the outbreak in Hubei Province. It only took them 10 hours from receiving a notification from the government to forming and assembling a team.

A team comprised of 303 medical professionals from Sichuan Province was among the new arrivals. The youngest member was just 22.

Prior to the arrivals, last week, medical personnel from Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Hunan Xiangya Hospital, Shandong Qilu Hospital, and Sichuan Huaxi Hospital, the most prestigious hospitals in China, were ordered to join together in Wuhan and take over intensive care units.

According to the latest data, nearly 16,000 medics from different parts of China have joined the battle to control the novel coronavirus in Wuhan. They are angels and fearless warriors.

Medical teams sent by other provinces to support virus-hit Wuhan have demonstrated quick response times during the virus outbreak and a strong sense of responsibility.

To support Wuhan, the general public has put forth great effort as well. Related businesses have delivered essential supplies to Wuhan such as face masks, protective gowns, or daily necessities like vegetables, grain, and cooking-oil. Meanwhile, many companies have resumed operations and are working overtime to produce what item urgently needed in Wuhan.

"To Wuhan" is the voice mostly heard among Chinese experts, construction workers, and volunteers. The rapid construction of Huoshenshan and Leishenshan hospitals revealed the experience of the dedicated workers. Volunteers said goodbye to their families after accepting this mission at such a critical and challenging time.

The novel coronavirus outbreak is ferocious and strong. It will be a fierce battle that will not end soon.

Wherever there is an epidemic, there are heroic doctors. Where there are people in need, aid will arrive from various parts of the country. The iron will of all Chinese is the trump card that will allow them to prevail over the coronavirus epidemic.
