The Lalin freeway, connecting Lhasa and Nyingchi, is built on a plateau with an average altitude of more than 3,000 meters. It is known as the "sky road" on top of the world.

The total length of the Lalin freeway is 409.2 kilometers, with a total investment of 38 billion yuan. The whole line adopts the four-lane first-class highway construction standard. The designed speed is 80 kilometers per hour, and it is free of charge to use. After the line was opened to traffic, the travel time between the two places was slashed from 8 hours to 4 hours.

As the most beautiful highway in Tibet, the Dobutte bridge section of the Lalin freeway in Nyingchi city is also known as the "most beautiful water highway", which runs across the crystal blue waters of Tibet.
