  University builds Zhaozhou Bridge with 3D-printing technology in China

  Zhaozhou Bridge, a famous stone arch bridge built in the Sui dynasty, was constructed again using fabricated concrete 3D-printing by Hebei University of Technology on Monday. (Photos: VCG; Compiled by Du Aoran)The 3D-printed bridge was done by a group led by Professor Ma Guowei, which is the largest concrete 3D-printed bridge with the longest span, longest length and largest scale in the world.The bridge spans 18.04 meters with a length of 28.1 meters. It was printed and assembled on site based on the 1:2 scale of the original Zhaozhou Bridge. The concrete material was specially configured, and the 3D-printing cement-based mechanical equipment was independently developed and designed. The bridge enjoys a high safety coefficient because of overall consideration of the load of various bridges.The successful completion of the pedestrian bridge will promote the rapid advancement of the key technologies of smart construction, and helps realize the greening, industrialization and intellectualization of China's construction industry.
