The director of the park said this should be the lowest park ticket price nationwide. The park had applied to price authorities to raise the price to 0.5 yuan, but later revoked the decision due to multiple reasons and kept the price at 0.2 yuan.
Shuangxiu Park used to be a city park. It didn’t raise its ticket price even after it changed to an enterprise in 2005, due to its aim of benefiting people and relevant price regulations.
The park receives nearly 1.4 million visitors annually. It is named as “double beautiful gardens” in Chinese after the two gardens in it, the Japanese-styled Cuishi Garden and the Chinese-styled Huifang Garden.
