The 2018 DrAw Photo Contest (Drone Awards) has announced the best aerial photographs of the year. The contest is dedicated to the aerial photography whose platforms are fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles, balloons, blimps and dirigibles, rockets, kites, and parachutes. French photographer Florian Ledoux's shot, titled "Above The Polar Bear,” was named Photo of the Year. The photo was composed beautifully by blue and white, and the jumping ice bear between two ice blocks gives the photo life. The winner in the Abstract category was shot by Ovi D. Pop, titled “Weather Snake.” The contest was organized by Art Photo Travel, a non-profit association which creates cultural initiatives aimed at spreading, promoting and enhancing photography, art, cultures and natural beauty from around the world. Vincent Riemersma won the Sports category with “Skating Shadows,” painting the skaters’ shadows on the snow. More than 4400 photos were submitted by professional photographers and amateur drone photo enthusiasts from 101 countries. (Source: droneawards.photo)

The winner in the People category is “Pilgrimage of Millions of People” by Qinghua Shui. The six-man jury judged photos in six categories:  Abstract, Nature, Sport, People, Urban, and Wildlife. All award-winning photos will be exhibited in the photo exhibit, “Sky is the Limit”, which will be held in Siena in October and November. (Source: droneawards.photo)
