At the end of the activity, the two embraced each other. Fang said this was the most romantic Qixi Festival after their marriage. She added that she and her husband have been married for six years, and they met on the construction site, working together in the same team.

Although the work is dull and hard, the couple are very happy. The husband takes care of his wife and undertakes heavy work. Every time Fang climbs up and down, Mao would come up and hold her hand.

On Qixi Festival, Mao always prepares gifts. This year, Fang received a large bunch of flowers and wishes from many people, which touched her very much.

According to Xu Guoqing, Deputy Secretary of the Party branch of the Spring Eye Project, there are more than 600 workers on the project. They have undertaken the hardest work, but many of them can only return home every Spring Festival and have little time to meet their beloved. When Qixi Festival comes, they hope to play the role of a “magpie” to help workers meet their someone special.

Fifteen wives who live far from the construction site are invited to the project site to reunite with their husbands. The photo shows Mao holding Fang’s hand carefully as she walks out of the construction site.
