After achieving his black belt last year when he was just seven, Mayon placed first in the KUGB National Championship 2018.

Eight-year-old Mayon Jayawickrama from Yorkshire became the youngest black belt in Britain when he was just seven years old. He thanks his mum for his success.

Mayon poses a photo with another older competitor. Mayon is the youngest black belt in the Karate Union of Great Britain. The youngest black belt on record with the Guinness World Records is nine years old.
