Want to drive a high-speed train? Take the controls at CIIE 2026
At the China Pavilion at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, visitors can take the controls of a CR450 high-speed train simulator. The console recreates the prototype’s controls, sights and sounds. You get the driver’s seat without leaving the expo floor.
Out on the test track, the CR450 prototype reached kilometers per hour, according to China Railway. Back at the pavilion, a scale model and screen show what goes into a train like this, from the first design to testing and maintenance.
