As the snow falls, several chrysolophus pictuses are gambling around in Ganshan National Forest Park in Henan province, which forms a picturesque scene. Chrysolophus pictus, also called golden pheasant, and “fire phoenix”, is a second class national protected animal originating in China, who mainly inhabits in the Qinling region in Shaanxi province. The adult golden pheasant is 90–115 cm (35–41 in) in length, its tail accounting for two-thirds of the total length. Its brightly rainbow-like and well showy feathers have a high ornamental value. (Photo: IC)
