It is the first time mandarin ducks living in the popular tourist spot of eastern China’s Zhejiang Province have received the banding, as millions of migrant birds are banded every year. /VCG Photo

Five of them have been installed with GPS, which will send the location and body temperature of the birds to the database every one to two hours. /VCG Photo

Authorities from Hangzhou Birds and Ecology Research Institute and Zhejiang Wildbirds Association and National Birds Banding Center are helping in this effort. /VCG Photo
