It has implemented a series of mountain and water improvement projects, such as slope reconstruction, construction of terraces, and mountain closure for afforestation.

The forest coverage rate has increased from 3 percent to the current 30.6 percent.

There are nearly one million acres of dry farming terraces in Pengyang County. At sunrise, cascading terraces seem to ripple like water waves, creating picturesque scenery.

Located at the eastern foot of Liupan Mountain, Pengyang County has been unremittingly improving soil and water management, tree planting and afforestation for more than 30 years.
